Xipp Engine Tuning Method (Salsa)
A practical RC gas tuning guide built around how Walbro carbs actually behave in flight.
Most “four-cycling” behavior in flight comes from rich settings. This guide focuses on setting high and low needles correctly, understanding float lever effects, and identifying rich/lean symptoms before they become reliability problems.
- Low needle affects idle + transition; high needle affects top end
- Set top end for peak RPM, then slightly rich for flight safety
- Tune progressively through throttle range to remove four-cycling
- If behavior is erratic, inspect float lever and diaphragm system
